I have been drawing ever since I hold a pencil and I had always been interested in creating beautiful things. I grew up in Cardinal Valley as an undocumented immigrant without an idea of how I fit in society. Regardless, I have always been fortunate enough to have parents and teachers who recognized my talent and nutured my love for art and school. With luck and a ton of hard work, I attended the University of Kentucky where I graduated with a degree in Art Studio, Arts Administration and Art History. My objective in the work that I make is to have people recognize beauty. It's to  make something bland and boring interesting. I create what I do because there are people and situations that need attention but people look the other way because it doesn't directly effect them. We will never progress if we look past the suffering of others. Changing society is really challenging and it takes a lot of strength from large masses of people but through art, I hope to do my part.   

He estado dibujando desde que tengo un lápiz en la mano y siempre tengo un interes en crear cosas hermosas. Crecí en Cardinal Valley como una inmigrante indocumentada y siempre me había sentido fuera de lugar . En cualquier caso, siempre he tenido la suerte de contar con padres y maestros que reconocieron mi talento y nutrieron mi amor por el arte y la escuela. Con suerte y un montón de trabajo, asistí a la Universidad de Kentucky, donde me gradué con un título en Art Studio, Administración de Artes e Historia del Arte. Mi objetivo en el trabajo que hago es que la gente reconozca la belleza. Es para hacer algo insípido y aburrido interesante. Creo en lo que hago porque hay personas y situaciones que necesitan atención, pero las personas miran hacia otro lado porque no les afecta directamente. Nunca progresaremos si miramos más allá del sufrimiento de los demás. Cambiar a la sociedad es realmente desafiante y requiere mucha fuerza de grandes masas de personas, pero a través del arte, espero hacer mi parte.
